BOBCATS FINISH REGULAR SEASON WITH WIN OVER WILDCATS

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The St. Thomas University Men's Soccer team (7-6-2, 6-1-2 TSC) defeated Johnson & Wales (7-6, 4-4 TSC) by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon from Arch Creek Park.
The win, pushed the Bobcats over the .500 for the season and currently into first place in the Sun Conference standings.

STU and JWU remained scoreless following the first half, however, both clubs were aggressive as the STU had nine shots on goal, while JWU recorded six. Itay Forkosh had an opportunity to give St. Thomas a lead late in the half, missing a goal chance just high in the 43rd minute as the game went to halftime at 0-0.

Following the halftime break, the Bobcats maintained their aggressive play, as Santeri Bergman recorded his first goal of the season to give St. Thomas a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute of the match. Forkosh, as well as Pedro Silva, remained aggressive with multiple shots on goal in an attempt to pad the STU lead.

Johnson & Wales was able to net an equalizing goal in the 78th minute of the match, the goal game as a rebound attempt after the first shot-on-goal hit the crossbar. Silva, who has sparked the Bobcats offense all season, gave STU their second lead of the match in the 84th minute. Silva lined up for a free kick from 20-yards out and recorded his second goal of the season in incredible fashion to give St. Thomas the late lead.
