LAKELAND, Fla. – St. Thomas (20-8, 16-2 TSC) concluded its regular season with a 99-54 loss to Southeastern (27-0, 18-0 TSC), the number one ranked team in NAIA Division II.
The Bobcats finish the 2017-18 regular season with a second place finish in the Sun Conference standings and a bye through the quarterfinals in The Sun Conference Championship Tournament. The Bobcats will play in the semifinals of the conference championships on Friday, Feb. 23 in Lakeland, Fla.
STU's only two losses this season in conference play came to number one ranked Southeastern. The Bobcats finish the regular season having won 11 of their last 12 games.
In the contest on Saturday, the Bobcats were once again led by
Samara Auguste and
Katie Rienas. Auguste scored 19 points on a night where she went to the free throw line 17 times. Auguste added five assists and three steals. Rienas hit four three pointers en route to a 16-point night.
Keiana Brooks led the Bobcats on the glass with six rebounds to go along with four points and three assists.
The Bobcats will return to Miami Gardens for the week's preparation for The Sun Conference Championship tournament to be held in Lakeland, Fla. on Friday, Feb. 23 and Saturday, Feb. 24.
