Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. - The 2017-18 St. Thomas University Women's Basketball team finished runner up in The Sun Conference Championship Tournament.  With the runner up finish in the regular season and tournament, the Bobcats qualify for the NAIA Division II National Championships to be held March 7-13 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Second seed St. Thomas (21-9) fell to top seed and the number one team in the nation Southeastern (29-0) 75-41 in the Championship Game of the conference tournament.

Katie Rienas led the Bobcats offensively with 13 points, making three shots from beyond the arc.  Chakari Merritt scored 12 points and pulled down four rebounds.  Kristina Burgarski led the team with 11 rebounds, while Samara Auguste dished out a team-high seven assists.

The Bobcats will now return to Miami Gardens to prepare for the NAIA Division II National Championships.
