MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – No. 9 St. Thomas University (23-3, 5-1 TSC) continued the hot streak, winning their tenth straight game on Tuesday night 14-0 against St. Ambrose University (3-11) at Paul Demie Mainieri Field.

Rene Arauz (4-1) earned his fourth win on the season, pitching five innings of shutout baseball with five strikeouts allowing only three hits. Miguel Rodriguez and Jose Pupo each pitched an inning in relief to close out the game, setting down the Fighting Bees in order in both innings.

The Bobcats offense got off to another one of the patented fast starts, jumping out to an early 7-0 lead to put the game out of reach early. Chris Garabedian opened up the scoring for St. Thomas with a RBI single up the middle which brought in Jackie Urbaez. Sergio Lopez followed the Garabedian single with one of his own to extend the lead to 2-0.

The offense tacked on five runs in the fifth inning as the team bat around yet again to have St. Thomas lead at 12-0. Elih Marrero brought in two runs on a double as part of his 1-for-2 night. Nelson Mompierre earned his team leading fifth Golden Rake on the season as he went 2-for-3 with three RBIs to recieve the honor once again.

Up next for St. Thomas is a trip to Thomasville, GA. as conference play resumes as the Bobcats will take on the Thomas University Nighthawks in a three game series starting Friday, March 16^th.
