MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Three St. Thomas University Softball Seniors were honored Friday in between games of a doubleheader vs. no. 14 Thomas University.
Brandi Bunker,
Jamie Gonzalez and
Michelle Murch were each honored for their outstanding careers on and off the field in a Bobcat uniform.
In the doubleheader vs. Thomas, the Bobcats fell in both contests, dropping game one 2-0 followed by a 16-2 defeat in a rain-delayed second game.
The seniors Bunker (2-3), Gonzalez (1-3) and Murch (1-2) each recorded hits in game one of the twin bill. Starting pitcher
Jennifer Acevedo went a complete seven innings, allowing just two runs. Â
The seniors all recorded hits in game two of the doubleheader as well as Bunker again went 2-2 with a run scored, Gonzalez went 1-3 and Murch went 1-3. Combined the three seniors recorded nine hits on the day. The Bobcats managed two runs against the 14th ranked Night Hawks in the second game as
Nicole Maribona stole third, then came home to score on a throwing error. Bunker then scored on a ground out by pinch hitter
Amanda Hernandez after a stolen base of her own.
