MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The St. Thomas University Volleyball team continued action as the host of the STU Invitational Presented by Team Legacy Sales on Friday the Fernandez Family Center. 

The Bobcats opened Friday's action with their first win of the 2018 season and the first win for Head Coach Sam Skelton at St. Thomas.  STU won the match over Rochester in definitive fashion with a three-set sweep over Rocherster.  The first set went 25-17, then the Bobcats took a 2-0 lead with a 25-20 win in set two.

Set three was a battle to the very end, but STU ultimately prevailed with a 26-24 victory to complete the sweep.

St. Thomas (1-2) then played no. 3 ranked Missouri Baptist, but fell to the highly ranked Spartans 14-25, 19-25, 14-25.

The STU Invitational concludes Saturday with the Bobcats in action at 11 a.m. vs. Missouri Valley.
