STU FALLS IN GAME TWO OF THE GEORGIA TRIP

BRUNSWICK, GA. (January 26th, 2019) –St. Thomas University Men's Basketball team (7-13, 6-6 TSC) defeated the College of Coastal Georgia Mariners (12-11, 7-6 TSC) 67-72 in Sun Conference on Saturday night.

Game Notes
  • The Bobcats and Mariners went back and fourth for the first 12 minutes as the margin was never more than two and ultimately being tied at 19 all.
  • The game was tied once more at 23, but from there CCG took the lead and went on a 14-7 run to end the first half.
  • Daejour Adderley and Justin Brown were the highlight of the offense in the first half as they both scored eight-points to keep the Bobcats in the game.
  • The second half opened with the Mariners built their largest lead of the game at 10 points.
  • STU was able to get four consecutive defensive stops, while taking advantage of it on the offense side.
  • Antoine Joe would score the three-point bucket that would give the Bobcats the first lead of the second half.
  • The last 10 minutes would be a lot of back-and-forth basketball, with the Mariners keeping control.
  • The Bobcats would bring it within two multiple times but never be able to get over the hump.

  • The STU bench would outscore the CCGA bench 26-25.
  • The Sun Conference match-up had 19 lead changes as well as six ties in the contest.
