MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (October 2, 2019) - The fourteenth ranked St. Thomas University Men's Soccer team (7-1, 1-1 TSC) took Bobcat Field on Wednesday night and defeated the Gyrenes of Ave Maria University (0-8-1, 0-2 TSC) under the lights 7-2.

Game Notes

• Acerbi gained his second straight conference start in the net for the Bobcats, while gaining his fourth win on the year.
• The Bobcats controlled possession the whole game from the moment it begun.
• Domber got the goal scoring started in the early 11th minute.
• Rismoen added a goal himself from S. Gil to give STU a 2-0 lead heading into the half.
• St. Thomas did not wait long to get on the board in the second half as Pedro Moreira gave a dish to the right wing S. Gil who crossed it into the six-yard box where Moreira put it away with a left footed one-touch past the keeper to record his first goal on the night.
• AMU gained a goal off a penalty kick to bring the score 3-1.
• Moreira continued his goal streak and decided to change his style by using his head for the next two-goals, seconds apart. First one came off a corner kick from the left-footed Franke. The second came off a beautiful cross from Mathew Roberts, the one bounced header put the ball right over the keeper.
• These two additional goal solidified his first collegiate hat-trick.
• The Gyrenes continued to fight putting in another penalty kick in the 77th minute, this brought the game to 5-2 in favor of the Bobcats.
• STU star forwards Rismoen and captain P. Gil put the game away scoring the last two goals solidifying the 7-2 victory.
