MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (October 30, 2019) - St. Thomas University Volleyball (11-13, 7-7 TSC) clinched their berth in the Sun Conference Tournament, beating the Ave Maria Gyrenes (10-12, 5-8 TSC) in four sets (25-11, 16-25, 27-25, 25-18) from the Fernandez Family Center on Wednesday evening.

Game Notes
- A four-point rally, which featured back-to-back kills from Allende, gave STU a 6-4 advantage at the beginning of the first set.
- The Bobcats recorded three consecutive points, with Allende and Schlegel - Ridway, combined for kills to force a Gyrene timeout.
- Following the break, STU recorded three more points, extending the lead to 12-5.
- St. Thomas closed the first set with four straight points, winning, 25-11.
- AMU opened the second set with a 4-2 lead, but Bolinger tied the set at 4-4 with a kill.
- STU allowed four straight points and called a timeout, trailing 6-10.
- The Bobcats were unable to cut the deficit to less than three, before dropping the second set 16-25.
- The Gyrenes rushed out to a 6-1 lead in the third set, before back-to-back kills from Allende and Brock, cut the deficit to 4-6.
- Five straight points, gave STU an 8-7 lead, as Lucia Alvarez recorded a service ace.
- Three consecutive Bobcat points, tied the match at 19-19, and made Ave Maria use a timeout.
- A Bolinger kill, followed by a Gyrene error, clinched the third set win for STU, 27-25.
- Beecham opened the fourth set with a service ace, as the Bobcats took a 3-0 advantage.
- A four-point rally by Ave Maria made STU use a timeout, clinging to an 11-10 lead.
- Ave recorded three consecutive errors, extending the St. Thomas lead to 22-15, late in the fourth set.
- Chenault sealed the fourth straight wins for the Bobcats, as STU won the fourth set, 25-18.
