BOBCATS HEADED TO TSC TOURNAMENT ON SIX GAME WINNING STREAK

LAKE WALES, Fla. (November 9, 2019) - St. Thomas University Volleyball (13-13, 9-7 TSC) concluded the regular season with a four-set win over Warner University (5-17, 3- 13 TSC). The Bobcats defeated the Royals (19-25, 25-14, 25-21, 25-20) on Saturday afternoon. STU is currently riding a season-long, six-match winning streak as the Bobcats enter the Sun Conference Championship tournament.

Game Notes
  • In the first set, Batsel capped off a three-point rally, giving STU a 3-1 lead.
  • Allende extended the lead to 7-4, before a four-point run by Warner gave the Royals an 8-7 lead.
  • Warner led the rest of the set, winning 19-25.
  • St. Thomas opened the second set with three consecutive points, as Sofia Adorno, Taytumn Schlegel - Ridgway and Chenault all recorded kils.
  • The Bobcats recorded another four-point rally, capitalizing off a Royal error to take a 9-6 lead.
  • St. Thomas also added a seven-point rally, taking a dominant 18-9 lead, as Chenault led the run with a kill and block.
  • Consecutive errors by WU allowed STU to win the second set, 25-14.
  • STU took a 5-3 lead in the third set, recording all five points from Warner errors.
  • St. Thomas capitalized off Warner errors for the remainder of the third set, winning 25-21.
  • In the fourth set, Chenault, Batsel and Bolinger all recorded kills, while Vavan added a service ace to give STU a 4-2 lead.
  • Chenault added three consecutive kills to extend the Bobcats lead to 15-10.
  • Sarimar Lai finished the match win with back-to-back kills as St. Thomas won the fourth set, 25-20.
