MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (December 14, 2019) - St. Thomas University (STU) Bobcats Women's Basketball team (6-5) lost in non-conference action to the Florida National University Conquistadors (6-10) 68-65 on Saturday afternoon from the Fernandez Family Center.

- The Conquistadors opened the game on a 7-0 run, forcing STU to use a timeout.
- Back-to-back Dozier three-pointers cut the deficit to 7-6, as Florida National used a timeout of their own.
- Florida National added another extended run, 10-2 in less than a minute, building a 17-8 advantage.
- Vogel added recorded four consecutive points, cutting the FNU lead to 21-15.Â

- In the second quarter, Florida National was able to twelve, before free throws from Dozier and Brooks jumper put the Bobcats within nine, 32-23.

- Midway through the third quarter, FNU extended their lead to 16, before Vogel capped off a 6-0 run by STU to bring the game to 51-41.
- Right before the final buzzer of the quarter, Martinez - Sanz made her first three-pointer of the game to put the score at 56-44.
- St. Thomas had to play catch-up for the entire fourth quarter, finally cutting the Floirda National lead to single-digits, 65-56, with three minutes remaining after a Destiny Wilson jumper.
- Wilson added makes on free throws to bring the Bobcats within six points, with a minute remaining in the game.
- The Bobcats smartly extended the game by fouling Florida National. The Conquistadors could not capitalize on their chances at the charity stripe, allowing Dozier to net a three-point bucket to make the game 68-65.
- As tine expired in the fourth quarter, both Dozier and Wilson attempted three-pointers to tie the game. However, both fell short and the Bobcats took their first home loss of the season.
