MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (December 17, 2019) - St. Thomas University (STU) Men's Basketball (6-2) defeated the Mitchell College Mariners (2-8) 93-59 on Tuesday afternoon from the Fernandez Family Center.
Prior to the game, Florida State Senator, Oscar Brayon II received the Bobcat Community Service Award for his work in the Miami Gardens-area. State Senator, Brayon, began his political career as a Miami Gardens Councilman in 2003 and then went to serve as the Vice-Mayor. He was then elected to the Florida House of Representatives and for the last eight years, has been a State Senator. Senator Brayon has been a strong advocate for education, civil rights, juvenile justice and firearm safety. He is a member of 5,000 Role Models and is active in his church, St. Agnes Episcopal.
