BABSON PARK, Fla. (February 9h, 2019) – St. Thomas University's Men's Basketball team (11-13, 10-6 TSC) continued the push to the Sun Conference tournament on Saturday, defeating Webber International University in Sun Conference play.
Game Notes
- STU was trailing WIU, 11-8, midway through the first half, when Nick Strawter knocked in a three-point bucket to tie the game with thirteen minutes remaining.
- Webber rallied for a quick 6-0 run, before Philip Saunders converted five consecutive points for the Bobcats to trim the Warrior lead to 17-16.
- St. Thomas was trailing 24-16 before a 8-0 run, capped off by a Saunders three-pointer, tied the game once again.
- STU went into the halftime break trailing WIU, 30-27.
- Antoine Joe quickly tied the game in the second half, as the junior knocked in an early three-point bucket to make the game 30-30.
- Daejour Adderley gave the Bobcats a 37-34 advantage, adding a three-pointer of his own. Joe followed with a lay-up to extend the lead to five points.
- Moments later, Joe continued his electric play in the second half, knocking in another three-ball to put STU ahead 45-38, with fourteen minutes remaining.
- Aaron Dutcher gave the Bobcats a double-digit advantage, 49-38, by making a jumper.
- Webber cut the STU lead to 51-46 at the under-ten minutes' media timeout, before STU started a 16-1 run to build a 67-47 lead with less than four minutes remaining.
- The Bobcats cruised to the 71-51 Sun Conference win, with a dominant 44-21 second half offensive outburst.

St. Thomas has now won four consecutive Sun Conference games to move from seventh place and now into the fifth seed in the upcoming Sun Conference Tournament.
