WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (March 27
th, 2019) – St. Thomas University Softball (18-10, 4-6 TSC) lost in a Sun Conference doubleheader to Keiser University (16-12, 6-4 TSC), losing game one (5-0) and game two (5-3) on Wednesday afternoon.

Game Notes
	- In game one of the doubleheader, STU found themselves down early, as KU scored five runs in the bottom of the first to take a 5-0 lead.
- The Bobcat offense struggled to get started throughout the game, getting the first hit in the fourth inning on a Sands bunt single.
- St. Thomas threatened to score some runs in the top of the fifth inning, as Emily Santos reached on a single, then stole second and third base. Delaware reached on a walk and stole second to put runners in scoring position. However, STU failed to score in the inning and kept the deficit at 5-0.
- Manieri was thrown out at the plate, following an Ehrenthal single as STU could not force a run across in the top of the sixth inning.
- The Bobcats fell in game one of the doubleheader, 5-0, and looked to bounce back in game two of the Sun Conference match-up.

Game Notes
	- The STU bats were productive in game two, scoring in the top of the third inning on a Sands blast to left field, her first of the season, tying the game at 1-1.
- Keiser reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning, on a single to center, putting the Bobcats down 2-1.
- St. Thomas responded with in the top of the fifth, tying the game for the second time, on a Delaware single which brought in Sands.
- KU added three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, to take a 5-2 lead into the final frame.
- STU needed a comeback in the seventh inning to salvage a game in the Sun Conference doubleheader, as Sands came to the plate again with one out.
- Sands doubled to right-center, for her third hit of the game and was followed by a Delaware walk. Santos delivered a single to left, which brought in Sands into score, making the game 5-3.
- St. Thomas could not extend the rally past that run, and was swept in both games of the Sun Conference doubleheader against Keiser.
Upcoming
St. Thomas will be back on the road next week, with two Sun Conference doubleheaders, starting on Thursday, April 4
th against the Nighthawks of Thomas University. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
