BOBCATS FALL IN HOME FINALE VERSUS SEAHAWKS

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (April 24th, 2019) – St. Thomas University Softball (25-17, 9-13 TSC) was swept in Sun Conference action against Keiser University (27-17, 13-9 TSC) in the home regular season on Wednesday night, losing game one 15-1 and falling in game two 5-4.

Game One

Game Notes
  • KU took an early lead in the top of the first inning on a RBI single, opening the game with a 1-0 advantage.
  • STU tied the game on a Kruempel RBI single, as the junior brought in G. Santos.
  • The game got away from the Bobcats, as KU added at least one run in every inning, and scoring four runs in the fourth and eight in the fifth to take a 15-1 win over St. Thomas in game one of the doubleheader.

Game Notes
  • Keiser opened game two with another first inning run, scoring on a RBI double into the gap.
  • The Seahawks added a second run in the second inning, on a RBI single to right field.
  • Colon cut down a third KU run at the plate with a strong throw from right field, ending the rally and the inning.
  • Grafals launched her, team-leading, fourth home run of the season in the top of the third, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
  • Keiser added three runs in the fourth inning, extending their lead to 5-1 over the Bobcats.
  • Grafals stepped up to the plate and added her second home run of the contest, in the bottom of the fourth inning, bringing the Bobcats back down by one run at 5-4.
  • STU went down in order in the seventh inning, ending the game with a 5-4 loss.
Upcoming
STU travels to Lake Wales, to take on Warner University in the regular season finale on Friday, April 26th. The Bobcats need to sweep the doubleheader against the Royals to advance to the Sun Conference tournament held in Clermont, Fla.
