th, 2019) – Sixth-seeded St. Thomas University (48-14) lives to see another game, fighting off elimation, by eliminating fifth-seeded Georgia Gwinnett College (48-13) 4-1 in Game 16 of the Avista NAIA World Series on Tuesday evening from Harris Field.

- Orlando Rodriguez (11-2) made his second start of the NAIA World Series, earning his second win, throwing six innings, striking out eight, while scattering six hits and allowing one earned.
- Rodriguez has now pitched 15 innings in the 2019 NAIA World Series, striking out 21 and allowing three earned runs, across his two appearances.
- In the bottom of the third inning, STU opened the scoring as Urbaez brought in Lowry on a sacrifice fly.
- Delgado followed the sacrifice fly with a single to left, scoring Allende and extending the lead to 2-0.
- St. Thomas capped off the four-run outburst with a two-run home run by Rivero, his 15th of the season, to open a 4-0 lead over the Grizzlies.
- GGC responded with their lone run of the game, in the top of the fourth, on a bases loaded single to put the score at 4-1.
- Rodriguez limited the Grizzlies offense to one more hit, over his final two innings to leave with an opportunity to win his second World Series start.
- Jason Graña entered the game in the top of the seventh inning, allowing two base runners in the final three innings, earning his 10th save of the season to secure a 4-1 win.
