MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (June 4
th, 2019) – St. Thomas University will be playing collegiate football in the Fall of 2019, for the first time in school history. Following the announcement of the football program in August 2018 by President David A. Armstrong J.D. and the hiring of
Bill Rychel as the first Head Football Coach in school history in December 2018, the next major reveal is the Inaugural Season Football Schedule.
St. Thomas enters the 2019 season competing in the Mid-South Conference; joining Sun Conference opponents: Warner University, Webber International University, Southeastern University, Keiser University and Ave Maria University.
The first-ever St. Thomas University football game will be held at Monsignor Edward Pace High School, with the Bobcats taking on the Thomas More University Saints (KY). on Saturday, September 7
th.
STU travels to Barbourville, KY to compete against the Union College Bulldogs on Saturday, September 14
th in the programs first road game.
The Bobcats play the Point University Skyhawks on September 21
st at St. Thomas Aquinas HS (Ft. Lauderdale) as part of "Broward Appreciation Night".
Following a bye-week, St. Thomas begins Sun Division play with a road contest against the Webber International Warriors on October 5
th.
The Bobcats return for homecoming on October 12
th, taking on the Southeastern University Fire, at Monsignor Pace HS.
STU heads back on the road to play the Yellow Jackets of Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina on October 19
th.
St. Thomas ends October with a home contest against the Gyrenes of Ave Maria on Saturday, October 26
th at Monsignor Pace HS to resume Sun Division play.
The Bobcats go on the road for two consecutive weeks, with two Sun Division games, taking on the Warner Royals (Lake Wales) and Keiser Seahawks (West Palm Beach) on November 2
nd and 9
th, respectively.
The inaugural regular season ends, at Monsignor Pace HS, as St. Thomas plays the Faulkner University Eagles on November 16
th.
