MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (October 28, 2020) - St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Soccer (4-4, 3-4 TSC) was defeated 3-1 on Senior Appreciation Night against Ave Maria University (6-3, 4-3 TSC) on Wednesday night from Bobcat Field.

- Prior to the game, St. Thomas University Athletics honored nine seniors; Alexa Leizorek, Andrea Manzur, Lisa Wallje, Leonie Weide, Emma Lysell, Melanie Lefebvre, Nicole Maribona, Hasana Purewal and Robyn-Leigh Hearne.Â
- In the opening minutes of the Sun Conference Match of the Week, Ave Maria was able to get on the scoreboard, taking a 1-0 lead in the 2nd minute.Â
- Ferradaz and Medina combined to take the first three shots for STU, but could not tie the game at 1-1.Â
- Medina netted her fourth goal of the season, scoring the equalizer in the 9th minute.
- Both teams traded shot attempts but were unable to score for over 30-minutes of game action.Â
- Ave Maria scored the go-ahead goal in the 42nd minute, taking a 2-1 lead into the halftime break.Â
- The Bobcats outshot the Gyrenes, 7-5, in the first half.
- AMU added an insurance goal in the 49th minute, extending their lead to 3-1.Â
- Lefebvre recorded more saves in the second half, bringing her total to six for the match.Â
- In the 80th minute, STU still trailed 3-1.
- STU could not score again, losing the Sun Conference Match of the Week, 3-1.Â
