BABSON PARK, Fla. (October 31, 2020) - St. Thomas University (STU) Volleyball (8-4, 6-4 TSC) defeated Webber International University (4-6, 2-5 TSC) in straight sets (25-21, 25-20, 25-20) on Saturday evening.

  • STU opened the game on a 5-1 run, including service aces for Beecham.
  • Nunez-Casal added a service ace of her own to extend the Bobcat lead to 8-3.
  • Webber rallied for five consecutive points to tie the first set at 8-8.
  • The Warriors took their first lead of the match, 11-10, before a third Beecham service ace in the opening set, gave the Bobcats back a 12-11 advantage.
  • Bolinger tallied back-to-back points for STU, notching a kill and adding a service ace of her own to put the set at 14-12 in favor of St. Thomas.
  • Leading 23-17, following consecutive kills from Nunez-Casal and Bolinger, WIU called a timeout.
  • After the break, the Warriors cut the Bobcat advantage to 23-21, forcing STU to use a timeout, as well.
  • St. Thomas closed the first set with the final two points, earning a 25-21 first set win. 
  • The second set was a back-and-forth affair, as the Bobcats needed a Stephanie Gomez service ace to take an 8-7 lead.
  • Sills added her first kill of the match to give STU a 10-7 advantage, as Webber called a timeout.
  • St. Thomas recorded four consecutive points, which featured three kills from Bolinger, to lead 19-12. 
  • Fernandez ended the second set with a service ace, as the Bobcats took a commanding 2-0 lead, with a 25-20 set win. 
  • The third set started with a 4-1 run by STU, capped off by a Bolinger kill. 
  • Midway through the third set, following an STU timeout, the Bobcats rallied for four straight points to take a 19-17 lead, as WIU used a timeout. 
  • STU completed the sweep with the final three points, as Nunez-Casal ended the match with a kill.
