BOBCATS TAKE ON SEAHAWKS IN TSC MATCH OF THE WEEK

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (October 6, 2020) - Entering this week on a five-match winning streak and in first place in the Sun Conference, St. Thomas University (STU) Men's Soccer (5-1, 4-0 TSC) looks ahead to a pivotal match-up against Keiser University (5-0, 3-0 TSC) in the Sun Conference Match of the Week on Wednesday, October 7.

The first place Bobcats five-game winning streak dates back to September 19 against Webber International, and during the streak, STU has allowed one goal, recording four shutouts. St. Thomas ranks No. 1 nationally in shutouts on the season, with Franco Acerbi, Mike Marx, and Josh Womack each recording one. Acerbi has been the leader in net for the Bobcats, holding a 3-1 record and appearing in four-of-six games for STU. 

The St. Thomas offense is well-balanced, with four players tied for the team lead in goals (2) and as a unit, has outscored opponents 15-4 for the season and 15-1 during the current winning streak. Federico Landaburu has scored once in each of the past two matches, including a game-winning goal in last week's Game of the Week against Southeastern University. 

The reigning outright Sun Conference champions, Keiser, are led by two-time First-Team All-Conference selection, Ciro Damine. Damine has scored nine goals in five matches, including five against Trinity Baptist College in the Seahawks season-opener, and ranks second int he NAIA in goals on the season. 

Keiser has won each of the previous two games against St. Thomas University, dating back to 2017, including a 2-0 victory over STU in 2019, en route to the Sun Conference Regular Season Championship. 

STU has been featured in three consecutive Sun Conference Games of the Week and is 2-0 on the 2020 season in those match-ups.
