MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (November 14, 2020) - St. Thomas University (STU) Men's Basketball (1-2, 1-1 TSC) dropped a Sun Conference game against Florida Memorial University (1-1, 1-1 TSC) 77-73 in the "Battle of Miami Gardens," on Saturday evening from the Lion's Den.

- St. Thomas quickly jumped out to a 4-0 lead following back-to-back buckets from Jones and Ellington.Â
- Jones scored six of the first eight-points for STU, as the Bobcats led 8-4, four minutes into the Sun Conference battle.
- Russell recorded six consecutive points for St. Thomas, putting the St. Thomas advantage at 16-11.
- Russell added to his first-half total with a lay-up, as STU led 23-16 with eight minutes remaining in the half.Â
- Lee Richmond scored the last three points of the opening half for STU at the charity stripe. Putting the Bobcats ahead 29-24.
- The Lions closed the first half on a 10-0 run, heading into the break leading STU 34-29.
- Joe sank a three-pointer and added a jumper to tie the game at 34-34 in the early stages of the second half.
- Joe continued to lead the second-half surge by the Bobcats, scoring 12-of-15 points to tie the game again at 44-44.
- With less than 10-minutes remaining in the half, Jones reclaimed the lead for STU, 55-52, with three straight points.
- Ellington extended the Bobcat advantage to 65-57 with 6:09 left in the game.
- FMU responded with a 12-3 run to take a 69-68 lead with 3:06 remaining in the second half.Â
- Richmond cut the Lions' lead to 76-73 in the final minute of the Sun Conference game, but STU was unable to force OT, falling 77-73.
