PINO CONTINUES DOMINANT STREAK, AS #2 STU WINS SERIES VS KU

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (February 15, 2020) - No. 2 St. Thomas University (STU) Bobcats Baseball (8-2, 2-0 TSC) won game two of the Sun Conference doubleheader against (RV) Keiser University (7-3, 0-2 TSC) 7-4 on Saturday, February 15, from Silvester Field.

  • In his first appearance since his no-hitter, Pino continues to stifle opponents. The senior right-hander ended his first inning of work with back-to-back strikeouts.
  • St. Thomas got on the scoreboard in the top of the third inning as Khawly launched his first career St. Thomas University home run, putting STU ahead 2-0.
  • Guerra plated another run for the Bobcats, bringing in Martinez with an RBI single.
  • Mondejar brought in an additional two runs, in the top of the fifth inning, doubling home Khawly and Rivero.
  • Pino ended his afternoon and has extended his shutout innings streak to 12 consecutive innings, leaving in line for his third straight win.
  • STU scored once again, adding a run on a Vazquez RBI single in the top of the sixth inning.
  • Tyler Morales entered the game for the Bobcats in the bottom half of the inning and recorded two strikeouts.
  • Morales pegged his second batter in the bottom of the seventh inning and was replaced by Luis Gonzalez.
