WIN NO. 21 SENDS STU TO TSC SEMIS

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (February 25, 2020) - Third-seeded St. Thomas University (STU) Men's Basketball (21-5) advances to the Sun Conference Semifinals for the first time since 2017-18, defeating sixth-seeded, Webber International (15-15) 94-67 on Tuesday night from the Fernandez Family Center.

Ironically, the Bobcats win against the Warriors is on the fourth anniversary of the last STU Sun Conference tournament win, also against Webber International.

Game Notes
  • Webber opened the game by sinking an opening three-pointer before the Bobcats responded with an 11-0 run, led by Gilbert. The senior forward recorded 5-of-7 points, including a three-pointer.
  • Three consecutive three-pointers from Brown and Gilbert extended the lead to 20-9 with 14:43 remaining in the first half.
  • Midway through the first half, Gilbert notched another three-pointer, putting the Bobcats in front 34-18.
  • Floyd slammed in his second dunk of the first half, putting STU ahead 36-16.
