MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. (October 28, 2021) – The 24th ranked St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Soccer team (9-3-2, 3-3-1 SUN) won the match against the Gyrenes of Ave Maria University (9-7, 3-5 SUN) from the Bobcat Turf Field, Thursday evening, 1-0.

- Melanie Lefebvre earned the starting nod in the net for the Bobcats for the 13th straight game
- The match between the Gyrenes and Bobcats began with a very eager shot by Karina Medina in attempt to put the Bobcats on the scoreboard three minutes into the game.
- Throughout the first half of the match, both the AMU and STU kept equal possession of the ball.
- St. Thomas outshot Ave Maria in the first half of the match with 13 shots to the Gyrenes Goalie
- The sole goal of the match was made by Jocelyn Mendez off a freekick in the 42nd – minute, making that Mendez's second goal of the season.
- At the half the Bobcats led the match 1-0 over the Gyrenes.
- In the second half the Bobcats kept pursuing the attack and totaled 27 shots, however they were unable to find the back of the net.
- Lefebvre received her ninth shutout of the season, which allowed St. Thomas to secure another win.
