Box Score 2 MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (October 29, 2021) – the newly receiving votes St. Thomas university Volleyball team (19-6, 10-2 SUN) took the road this weekend and won back-to-back matches with sweeps over Webber International University (11-14, 2-10 SUN) and Florida College (17-16, 4-2 CAC). The Bobcats are now riding a six-game win streak heading into the final week of regular season play.
St. Thomas opened the weekend on Friday in Babson Park, Fla. to take on the Warriors in Sun Conference action.
Tyran Chenault continues to be a dominant force on the offensive end for STU as she led the team with 15 kills.
Amanda Allende and
Arianna Bolinger we right behind with 14 and 12, respectively. St. Thomas takes the season series against the Warriors 2-0 winning in straight sets each time.
The service game was on a different level as the Bobcats tallied nine service aces.
Bianca Grassi continues to hold down the back line with 26-digs, recording her 12
th 20+ dig match.
Kyleigh Beecham and
Mia Thomas split the setter roles getting 20 assists each. The Bobcats won 25-19, 26-24, and 30-28 never letting the moment become to big.
Against Florida College, St. Thomas won in straight sets 25-21, 25-17 and 25-18. This wrapped up their final road trip of the 2021 regular season.
St. Thomas looks ahead to close out the regular season with two home SUN matches. First up is Florida Memorial on Wednesday, November 3
rd at 7 p.m. and closes out the regular season on Saturday against Southeastern.
