MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (November 12, 2021) – The fifth ranked St. Thomas University (STU) Men's Soccer team (13-0-2, 7-0-1 SUN) repeat as Sun Conference Tournament Champions defeating sixth ranked Keiser University (11-4-2, 6-1-1 SUN) from the home turf on Friday evening. This is the second time the Bobcats go back-to-back doing so in 2016-17. This marks the fourth conference championship in six years. This is also the second time that the Bobcats sweep the regular season and tournament crown.
Â
St. Thomas was the overall number one seed heading into the tournament after winning the regular season crown for the first time since 2017 where the team was also undefeated. The Bobcats received a bye in the first round and then defeated Southeastern University in the semifinals 3-1. The conference final was a rematch of last year's conference title game, but this time the Bobcats defended their crown in front of the home crowd.

How It Happened
- Franco Acerbi was the go-to keeper for this Sun Conference matchup.
- Fernando Arzeno, the Sun Conference Player of the Year, put the Bobcats on top first when Facundo Cisterna set the perfect cross on the ground to draw the keeper off enough to give Arzeno space to score.
- The Bobcats led 1-0 in the 28th minute.
- Facundo Cisterna returned the favor putting one in the back of the net in the 50th minute to give St. Thomas some insurance.
- The back line came up big for St. Thomas denying long passes and opportunities in the box.
- Arzeno and Cisterna once again connected in the 77th minute to secure the victory making it 3-0 as Arzeno scored his 11th goal of the season.
- St. Thomas almost scored a fourth as the final seconds winded down but just came up short.
