STU SPLITS KENTUCKY TRIP DROPPING TO (RV) USAO

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. (November 27, 2021) – The St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Basketball team (5-3, 1-2 SUN) drop the second game of the Julie Costello Memorial Classic to receiving votes University of Science and Arts Oklahoma (5-2) 85-70.

Match Notes
  • STU scored the first points of the game as Kasey Gagan hit the jumper.
  • The Drovers would then take a 12-4 lead five minutes into the game.
  • The Bobcats would work their way back with a 15-5 run to end the first quarter with the lead at 19-17.
  • The first two minutes of the second quarter continued the back-and-forth battle that had STU leading 23-20.
  • USAO would then go on a 18-2 run that gave them a 38-26 lead.
  • The Drovers would take a 46-38 lead into the half.
  • Defense was the key factor in the third as both teams combined for 13 steals, they also combined for a total of 25-points in the quarter.
  • St. Thomas tried to work their way back into it but was unable to tame the Drover offense as they shot 64% from the field.
  • It was an even rebounding game as it balanced 38-37 with USAO on the small tilt.
  • Kasey Gagan and Brooke Bogatz continue to lead the way scoring 17-points and 15-points, respectively.
  • Patricia Martinez-Sanz had eight-points and eight-rebounds with five-assists.
  • Chrystal Pressley owned the boards with 14-rebounds and eight-points.

St. Thomas will return home back into Sun Conference action taking on a pair of Georgia teams, Thursday against College of Coastal Georgia at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday against Thomas 2 p.m.
