MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (December 3, 2021) – The St. Thomas University (STU) Men's Basketball team (3-5, 1-3 SUN) found their way back into the win column picking up their first in Sun Conference play this season. The Bobcats took down the College of Coastal Georgia Mariners (4-6, 0-4 SUN) at home 91-69 on Thursday evening from the Fernandez Family Center.

Augustus Stone comes off his season-high 19-point performance against Barry University and showed that there is more in the tank scoring the first bucket of the game at two of his 26 points on the game. St. Thomas then fell behind 7-2 three minutes in.
Jahsim Floyd slammed a dunk to give STU a 9-7 lead. The Mariners would tie it up at nine to head into the media timeout.

The Bobcats would take the lead with 13:35 remaining in the first half and never lose it from there. A 14-6 run opened it up to an eight-point lead, the largest of the first half. Coastal Georgia continued to try chipping away and would bring it down to five to head into the half with STU up 43-38.

Coastal Georgia was the one to come out on top in the second half breaking it to within two after making an and-one. After a slow start a 12-2 run broke the gates wide open getting the first double-digit lead of the game at 57-46 with 14:43 remaining. There would only be one more instance where the lead was single digit. A 20-6 run gave STU a 26-point lead that saw no coming back for the Mariners.
Augustus Stone led the run with 13-points of the 20. St. Thomas closed out the game with a 22-point lead and first victory in league play this season at 91-69.
