BOBCATS BEAT MARINERS IN TSC ACTION

BRUNSWICK, GA.- (February 13, 2021) St. Thomas University Women's Basketball (15-3, 12-3 TSC) defeated College of Coastal Georgia (10-10, 8-9 TSC) 71-64 Saturday afternoon at Coffin Gym.

Game Starters:

Game Notes:

  • Starting out the first quarter, Domond recorded the first seven points for the Bobcats.
  • Mariners went on a 7-0 run to top the Bobcats 11-7 in the last half of the first quarter.
  • Dozier responded to the run with a three-pointer to put the Bobcats within one, 10-11.
  • Martinez-Sanz and Rodriguez both added three-pointers to the Bobcat total, 16-11.
  • Closing out the first quarter, Mariners attempted to close the Bobcat lead, 16-15.
  • Renice Dacres started the second quarter strong for the Bobcats with a three, 18-15.
  •  With 4:40 remaining in the first half, the Mariners tied the score 20-20.
  • The last three minutes of the second quarter was a back-and-forth for the lead going into halftime. The half finished in the Mariners favor, 31-29.
  • The Bobcats' first points of the third quarter came from Domond with a three. This also put the Bobcats in the lead 34-32.
  • With 6:04 left in the third, August put the lead back in favor of the Bobcats with a three, 39-36.
  • August extended the Bobcat lead 45-38, recording another three-pointer with 4:07 left in the third quarter.
  • The third quarter closed out with a jumper from Brooke Bogatz to give the Bobcats a 53-47 lead going into the fourth.
  • Chrystal Pressley kept the Bobcats in the lead 59-54 with 6:35 left to play in the game.
  • Mariners brought themselves within five points of the Bobcats 65-50, going into the last minute and a half of play.
  • In the last minute of play, free throws by Rodriguez, Edwards, Domond kept the Bobcats on top to win the game.
