TRACK & FIELD COMPETES AT SOUTH FLORIDA COLLEGIATE CHALLENGE

MIRAMAR, Fla. (March 13, 2021) - St. Thomas University (STU) Men's and Women's Track teams competed in the third South Florida Collegiate Challenge Meet from the Ansin Complex on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats' Women's Team placed third overall in a 12-team field, while the Men's program finished fifth out of 16.

Results

Women's Events
Long Jump

Alexia Kornilov placed eighth with a 4.24-meter jump.

Triple Jump
Kornilov added a second-place finish to her day, with a 10.0m jump.

100m Dash
Dai'ja Thompson (13.13m), Camille Barron (13.37m), Nicole Thomas (13.5m), and Chauneese Newby (13.59m) all placed for STU in the event.

200m Dash
Pamela Sanders-Booker earned a second-place finish (25.31s) for STU. Beyonce Green (5th/27.01s), Barron (7th/27.21s), Gabrielle March (9th/28.28s), and Destini Franklin (10th/28.37s) all finished in the top-ten for St. Thomas.

400m Dash
Green earned the first win of the day for St. Thomas, completing the 400m Dash in 1:01.20s. Debanhi Ednie placed fourth for STU (1:03.45s).

100m Hurdles
Mackenzie Inman was the top finisher for the Bobcats, coming in fourth place with a 16.72 time. Cristina Northerner (6th/17.52m), and Alexis Torres (7th/19.94s) also placed for St. Thomas. 

Men's  Events
Long Jump

Valerie Louissaint landed fourth (6.35m), while David Kellier finished in fifth place (6.26m).

Triple Jump
Louissaint placed third overall, jumping 12.55m.

100m Dash
Isaac Joseph nearly won the event for St. Thomas, finishing in second place with a 10.69-second time.

200m Dash
Joseph earned his second, top-three finish on the afternoon for STU, coming in third place (21.79s). Marvin Williams placed tenth (23.38s).

400m Dash
Isaiah Hunter was the top finisher for the Bobcats, coming in sixth place (51.58s). Williams came in just behind Hunter, placing seventh (51.69s).

800m Run
Adam Kamel (9th/2:05.65) and Peterley Louis (10th/2:06.13) added top-10 finishes for STU.

The fourth and final edition of the South Florida Collegiate Challenge takes place on Saturday, April 17, from the Ansin Complex in Miramar, Fla.
