PRAIRIE VIEW, TX. (March 26, 2021) - Isaac Joseph, a student-athlete for the St. Thomas University (STU) Track & Field team, will be representing the Haitian National Team at the Prairie View Relays for the 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympic qualifiers on Saturday, March 27.

"It is an honor racing for the Haitian Olympic team; I look forward to representing my country and flag at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games," said Joseph. "The motto in our coat of arms translates to 'unity is strength,' and I draw my strength from my family, coaches, and mentors. My support system, which is my strength, always has and will continue to develop me as an athlete and a leader for life."

Joseph has been sensational for the Bobcats during the 2021 Track & Field season, earning five wins in four meets for St. Thomas. The junior earned his first win in the 100-meter dash on February 21, in the first South Florida Collegiate Challenge, as he finished in 10.9-seconds. Joseph also won the 100m on March 9 (10.76s), and on March 20, at the Hurricane Invitational at the University of Miami (10.74s). His best time of the season is 10.69s, and Joseph achieved that at the third South Florida Collegiate Challenge.

Head Track & Field Coach Lorne Marcus leads the STU Cross Country and Track & Field programs and looks forward to seeing Isaac compete on the global stage. "This is an excellent opportunity for Isaac to gain exposure in the world track community, expanding upon just the local and NAIA-level," said Marcus. "Isaac will compete against some of the top runners around the world as he and the Haitian team prepare for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics."

Joseph will be competing in the 4x100 relay and the 100m dash for the Haitian team.

Marcus continued, "Haiti has a great, young student-athlete running for them, and we are proud he is a Bobcat."
