LAKE WALES, Fla. (October 15, 2022) – St. Thomas University Volleyball (12-4, 7-1SUN) completed a three-match week by defeating Warner University (3-12, 0-4 SUN) on the road for their eighth straight win. The Bobcats took the match in four sets to remain at the top of the Sun Conference standings.
Match Notes
- St. Thomas took sets one, three, and four (25-21, 25-17, 25-13) while dropping set two (23-25).
- Set one was a slow offensive start as STU hit .050 but kept Warner to -.057.
- Set two saw a very efficient attack from both sides as there were only nine attack errors.Â
- Warner hit a match best .229 while making adjustments to the Bobcat defense.
- The third set had the defensive up on the net as STU picks up four blocks forcing another negative hitting percentage for the Royals.
- Set four was all Bobcats hitting a season best .522 and committing just one attack error.Â
- St. Thomas had 13 kills, two blocks, and two service aces.
- This is the longest win streak of the season for STU and ties a career streak for Head Coach Whitney Battoe.
