MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (December 18, 2022)- The St. Thomas University (STU) Men's Basketball team faced off against Dakota Wesleyan in their first game of the Cruzin' Classic. The Bobcats defeated the Tigers by a score of 76-66.

The Bobcats got a quick start to the game with
Fred Mulbah hitting a turn around jumper. The Tigers would go on to score seven unanswered points however. A
Milton Matthews three ball started the momentum for STU. After some time,
Fred Mulbah worked his way to the line making both.
Milton Matthews and
Jordan Hernandez hit two from behind the arch to give the Bobcats the lead back.

Joshua Thrower got going for STU, hitting a three followed by a layup and the and one to go along with it. The Tigers worked their way back to make it a one-point game.
Milton Matthews provided some breathing room hitting one from just inside the three-point line, followed by another jumper.
James Harris III drove to the net on the fast break to go up by four.
DWU took the lead with a three, but
Milton Matthews hit a two ball to get the lead back. D'andre Johnson hit a late three, along with two free throws after to give the Bobcats the momentum heading into the locker room.

The second half was started with a tough jumper from D'andre Johnson. DWU worked their way to within two, but
Fred Mulbah drove to the paint to extend the lead. However, the Tigers would tie the game with a basket and a three. DWU extended their lead to five with a three and a jumper in the paint.

Joshua Thrower drove to the paint for the lay in, followed by a
Milton Matthews three from deep to make it a one-point game.
Dalon Dean gave the lead back to STU with two back-to-back lay ups of his own.

The Bobcats and Tigers went back and forth for a few minutes, but
Milton Matthews and
Justyn Rogers made two lay ups. STU started to break away with
Dalon Dean making one from behind the arch. The game would end with
Justyn Rogers getting fouled, making both at the line.
