(February 10, 2022) – The St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Basketball team (10-14, 6-8 SUN) come minutes away from upsetting the newly ranked no. 1 Southeastern University Fire (25-1, 14-0 SUN). The Fire pulled away in the final moments to take the 66-62 victory on Thursday evening from the Fernandez Family Center.

- The first quarter saw a lot of basket for basket action keeping the game close.
- August made the first five over seven points for STU hitting a jumper from the free throw line and splashing a three.
- Through the first quarter Southeastern took a two-point lead finishing out 16-14.
- St. Thomas defense went to work in the second quarter only allowing SEU to score 10-points.
- Mya Moye got the offense going quick knocking down a three to regain the lead to open the second quarter.
- A 9-4 run to head into the half-had STU leading 31-26.
- Moye had the first basket of the third quarter as St. Thomas continued to fight to extend their lead.
- A jumper from Duarte put the Bobcats at a nine-point advantage the largest lead of the game.
- After three quarters of play STU pushed through SEU runs to keep the tilt in their favor.
- The contest would come down to the final ten minutes of play.
- Southeastern caught the hot hand in the final quarter scoring 23-points and limiting St. Thomas to just 16.
- The Fire found themselves at the line 14 times and took advantage scoring 12 of them to take over the lead and run with it.
- A last second three from Moye made things interesting with 29-seconds of play.
- SEU missed a free throw keeping the game within one possession to send to overtime, but it was not enough for STU who had to foul in the final moments after a miss on the last possession.
