MR. 500! PEREZ ADDS HIS NAME TO ANOTHER PIECE OF STU BASEBALL HISTORY

DAVIE, Fla. (April 12, 2022) – History made once again under the lights on Tuesday evening at the NSU Baseball Complex as the Bobcats collect their 29th win of the season.. St. Thomas University's Head Baseball Coach, Jorge Perez etches his name once again in the STU Baseball history book recording his 500th win at the helm of the program.

Perez has been at the front end of the Bobcats Baseball program since 2009, winning his first ball game on February 6 against USC-Beaufort, 8-3. On March 20, 2021 Perez became the all-time winningest coach in program history, passing the great Manny Mantrana with his 452nd win. In between win one and win 500, Perez has led the Bobcats to nine-straight Sun Conference Tournament appearances, six straight NAIA Opening Round appearances, three Avista-NAIA World Series appearances, and two national runner-up finishes.

Quote from STU President David A. Armstrong, J.D. on win no. 500:

We are so proud of Coach Perez's achievements and that he is a living legend at St. Thomas University. We look forward to many more milestones in the future."

Quote from STU Athletic Director Bill Rychel on yet another achievement for Coach Perez:
