- St. Thomas jumped on the board first in the bottom of the third with a two-out two-run double from
Deavyn McDade to centerfield that brought home
Daniela Bautista and Sofia Negron.
- Bautista added some insurance in the bottom of the fifth with a double of her own to score Negron who tripled for the 10th time this season.
- Winter shutout the Conquistadors and struck out nine in her outing just allowing four hits.
-
Oaskarley Ochoa was the only player to record a multi-hit game.

-
Kaitlin Spalding was the starting pitcher in game two for the Bobcats collecting her fifth win of the season and seventh complete game.
- St. Thomas' bats stayed hot as McDade and
Marla Lavado helped put a crooked number on the board in the bottom of the first.
- McDade kept it going in the bottom of the third sparking a two-out rally that started with a double to left center.
- Lavado reached on an error and kept the inning alive to set up the blast that came off the bat of

- Negron puts her name back at the top of the list as she is tied in the NAIA for first in triples at 10.

St. Thomas will continue Sun Conference action next weekend as they take on Florida Memorial University in a three game series. This will be the first ever softball match-up between the teams as another sport gets added to the Battle of Miami Gardens series. Game one is schedule for Friday, April 22 at 6 p.m. at Carol City Park.
