HIALEAH, Fla. (April 6, 2022) - The receiving votes St. Thomas University Women's Tennis team (11-9, 2-3 SUN) took the courts back in sunny South Florida at Goodlet Park against Florida National University (4-10). The Bobcats were ready for the rematch as they continued their hot streak and picked up the 4-1 win as the teams were playing to clinch. St. Thomas has won nine of their last ten matches and four straight.
Doubles Play
- Annie Carrera and Maria Camila Puente went straight to work taking court one 6-0.
- Lia Peña and Carme Ibañez Navarro clinched the doubles point with a 6-1 win on court two.
- Court three was unfinished leaving Lauren Seeman and Manami Maehama tied at three all.
Singles Play
- Carrera continued to be the spark securing the first singles court win at three, 6-1, 6-2.
- Florida National picked up their one court win at five as Ibañez Navarro fell 6-2 twice.
- This made the match 2-1, STU.
- The Bobcats took courts two and four to secure the win.
- Peña took court two in straight sets, 7-5 6-2.
- Puente clinched the match at the four spot, 6-4 6-2.

The Bobcats will finish out Sun Conference play with a trip to Brunswick, Ga. on Saturday afternoon to take on no. 21 College of Coastal Georgia. STU is looking to fight for a spot in The Sun Conference Tournament.
