WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (November 2, 2023) - The Bobcats traveled to Winter Haven, Fla. on Thursday afternoon to face off against Brewton-Parker (GA) The final score was 68-51 in favor of Brewton-Parker, the Bobcats falling to the Barons for only the second time in series history.
From the start, the Bobcats fought hard. In the first quarter, they stayed close, trailing by just two points with a score of 13-11. The second quarter was evenly matched, with both teams tied at 29-29 at halftime.
The players from St. Thomas University showed determination. Ke'Ajia Williams led the team with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Bria Brown and Paige McDonald contributed with 10 and 8 points, respectively. Brooke Bogatz played her part with 6 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Camilla Flefil and Ra'Nae Tumblin combined for 9 points, and Marta Franco added 2 points and 4 rebounds.
Despite their best efforts, the game didn't go their way. They faced a strong Brewton-Parker defense in the final quarter, which made a comeback challenging.
While the scoreboard showed a loss, St. Thomas University's players left it all on the court and displayed their dedication to the game.
