#17 Women's Soccer Dominates with Seven Goals Against Warner

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (November 4, 2023) - On Saturday evening, the St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Soccer team hosted Warner University for the Sun Conference Tournament Quarterfinals. The Bobcats dominated against the Royals, defeating them in the match 7-1, allowing them to continue on to the Semifinals. 

Just 5 minutes and 28 seconds into the match, Gabrielle Cimino displayed her remarkable skill and determination. She struck the ball into the back of the net, putting the Bobcats on the board and notching her ninth goal of the season. Leslie Deleon brilliantly assisted the goal and gave the Bobcats an early lead. 

Just a couple of minutes later, in the seventh minute of the match, Miranda Ferradaz showcased her prowess with another goal, assisted by Cristina Blaya San Pedro. This was Ferradaz' first goal of the season. The Bobcats were now leading 2-0, and their dominance was becoming increasingly evident. 

Alexandra Santiago added to their tally at the 21st minute, assisted by Miranda Ferradaz. The relentless offense of St. Thomas was a sight to behold. Cristina Blaya San Pedro scored yet another goal at the 22nd minute, assisted by Natalie Haldeman, taking the lead to 4-0. 

St. Thomas maintained their offensive onslaught in the second half. Alyssa Consalvo found the net at the 50th minute, assisted by Natalie Haldeman, extending their lead to 5-0. The Royals managed to score a goal at the 52nd minute, but the Bobcats were not done with the fight. Alyssa Consalvo scored her second goal at the 74th minute, assisted by Gabrielle Cimino, which was followed by Alexandra Santiago's second goal at the 76th minute. The final score stood at 7-1 in favor of St. Thomas. This win brings the Bobcats to a 13-3-2 overall record. 

This win allows St. Thomas to advance to the Semifinals of the Sun Conference Tournament. They will head to Lakeland, Fla. to face #12 Southeastern University on Tuesday, November 7th at 7 p.m.
