MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (February 11, 2023)- The St. Thomas University (STU) Men's Basketball team dominated the Ave Maria Gyrenes on Senior Day.
Dalon Dean broke the St. Thomas record for threes made in a single season (91).

D'Andre Johnson got senior day started drilling a three two seconds into the game. The Bobcats would fall asleep for a minute, and the Gyrenes took an eight-point lead. The Bobcats battle back and
Jordan Hernandez got them to within one letting one go from behind the arch. Two minutes went by without any scoring, but
Jordan Hernandez went on to hit yet another three to regain the lead.

After some back and forth action,
Fred Mulbah gave STU a five-point lead by driving to the rim on the fast break. Despite the Bobcats giving themselves some breathing room nearing the end of the half, at the break it was a close game and the Bobcats headed to the locker room with a seven-point lead.Â

The second half started with
D'Andre Johnson hitting one from behind the line once again.
Fred Mulbah was responsible for the next three scores, giving the Bobcats the momentum to really break away.
Jordan Hernandez gave STU a twelve-point lead with another from behind the arch, and it was raining threes.Â

The Bobcats were rolling on all cylinders, going up by seventeen.
Dalon Dean made it twenty-five a few minutes later, letting one go from the parking lot and getting it to fall. The Bobcats came out fast in the second half, with the Gyrenes only getting to within fifteen in half two, and STU walked away with a 94-71 victory on senior day.Â
