MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (February 4, 2023)- The St. Thomas University (STU) defeated Coastal Georgia in a tight Sun Conference matchup. The Bobcats were down early, but found a way to pull out the second half comeback, to win 68-63.

The game started out with
Joshua Thrower getting a quick pass from
Fred Mulbah, and banking it in. After the Mariners went down and scored their first basket,
Fred Mulbah took it himself on the fast break and laying it in. Just when it looked like it was going to be all STU, CCG went on to take a five-point lead.

D'Andre Johnson cut the lead down, making his own room and getting a three to fall. After some more back and forth, the Mariners hit back to back from behind the arch to go up six.
Fred Mulbah made it a two-point lead for CCG as he drove to the net back to back times banking both off the glass.

Milton Matthews tied the game up at 20 after getting a pass from
Justyn Rogers, and rolling it in. Losing some momentum, the Mariners took advantage and went up five once again. Nearing the end of the first half, the Bobcats were just trying to catch up, but the Mariners took a six-point lead into the room.

The second half started with CCG getting a bucket right away, but
Milton Matthews responded with a three. Some back and forth went on, but
Dalon Dean made it a two-point game after receiving a pass from
Fred Mulbah and draining it from behind the line.

With thirteen minutes to go,
Milton Matthews gave all the momentum to STU, throwing one down over the Mariners defender. When it looked like the Bobcats would take a lead, CCG always found a way to respond and keep the lead.
Dalon Dean finally gave STU the lead after laying one in off the glass. Fred Mulbsh extended the lead after getting fouled and making both at the line.

Despite the effort from the Bobcats to run away with it, the Mariners just would not go away and tied it up. With a minute and a half to go,
Fred Mulbah scored to give STU a three-point lead.
Jordan Hernandez sealed the deal banking one in to give the Bobcats the win 68-63.
