MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (March 3, 2023)- The St. Thomas University (STU) Baseball team picked up two of three games from the Thomas University Nighthawks to start Sun Conference play. The Bobcats bats were solid, tallying 42 runs in the three games.

Game One
- The Bobcats scored early, getting four in the bottom of the first.
- In the second Chris Schoeller hit a single to left which brought Matt Granato in to score to make it 5-0.
- In the bottom of the third the flood gates opened as STU tacked on seven more runs.
- And in the bottom of the fifth the Bobcats put on the remainder of the runs, scoring 10 to make it 22-3.
Hitting
Chris Schoeller- 3 AB, 3 hits, 3 runs, 2 rbi's
Robin Fernandez- 3 AB, 3 hits, 2 runs, 3 rbi's

Game Two
- STU took the early lead 1-0 in the bottom of the second, as Robin Fernandez got out at first, but not before Brian Garcia was able to come across.
- The bottom of the third Chris Schoeller drilled one over the left field wall to make it 2-0.
- The game would shift as the Nighthawks took the lead 3-2 in the seventh.
- In the top of the ninth, Thomas extended their small lead to 7-2 lead.
- An Omar Baldo four run home run in the bottom of the ninth to go down one with 0 outs, wouldn't be enough as the Bobcats lost 7-6.

Game Three
- Thomas took a 1-0 lead to open the game in the first.
- In the bottom of the first Kevin Moreno reached on a fielder's choice, which brought Joey Thompson in to score.
- In the second, Joey Thompson hit a sac fly, which scored Angelo Piloto.
- In the third the Nighthawks took the lead 3-2.
- In the bottom of the fifth, Angelo Piloto gave STU the lead 4-2 as he singled to center field scoring two runs.
- The bottom of the sixth the Bobcats took control, putting seven runs on the board to take the 11-3 lead.
- STU was able to add one more run in the bottom of the seventh 12-3, and this one looked just about done.
- The Nighthawks wanted to make it a game, and put on three runs in the eighth to make it 12-6.
- Thomas came back in the top of the ninth and somehow someway took the lead 13-12.
- STU didn't give up however, and loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth, and Robin Fernandez singled to right field bringing home Eduard Mateo to walk it off. Â
