MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (March 2, 2023) - The no. 13 St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Tennis team (7-1, 0-1 SUN) dropped a tough battle to no. 1 Keiser (8-1, 1-0 SUN) at home to start off Sun Conference play. This is the first lost of the season for the Bobcats. 

The doubles point was secured by the Seahawks after taking courts one and two. Jenesie Burgos and Jamison Geoffrey's had a battle on court three but ultimately fell.

Lia Peña grabbed the first singles point to tie the match a one after winning by retirement. Keiser regained the lead for good after a win on court two.

Courts three, four and five all went to three sets with STU winning the second one in each one. Keiser clinched the match sweeping the first three courts.

St. Thomas will head to Orlando, Fla. for spring break and begin play on Tuesday, March 7.
