Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (April 14, 2023)- The St Thomas University (STU) Flag Football team defeated top ranked Thomas University in a close one, 19-18. Big passing plays would be the story for the Bobcats offense as
Holly Neher threw for 210 yards, and
Jada Graham had 101 yards receiving.

STU started quick, going 66 yards in 8 plays that was capped off with a Neher pass completed to Graham for a 54-yard touchdown reception. The Bobcats held the Nighthawks in their first drive, the next Bobcat possession would lead to a punt resulting in the Nighthawks tying the game at 6.

Late in the second quarter STU found the end zone once again, as
Tashumba Washington caught a pass from
Holly Neher once again, this time taking it 47 yards to the house. The Bobcats were able to hold Thomas to no points for a while, but they were able to get within one-point midway through the third quarter.

Looking for an answer, STU tried to do a little too much as
Holly Neher was intercepted. The Nighthawks took advantage, scoring in 7 plays to take an 18-13 lead. The next drive for the Bobcats resulted in an answer as
Kailey Miller was able to get open in the middle for a 22-yard touchdown to regain the lead early in the fourth quarter.

The Bobcats and Nighthawks go back and forth with the game looking like it could go either way. STU defense however was able to come up big, stopping the Nighthawks offense for two drives inside the 20-yard line. Â
