Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (April 20, 2023)- The St. Thomas University (STU) Flag Football team defeated cross town rival the Florida Memorial University Lions in a thriller 14-12.
Holly Neher once again had a solid night at the helm, throwing for 215 yards, and two touchdowns. The Bobcats now have won nine straight and are hot at the right time of the season with one game left before the Sun Conference Tournament.

The Bobcats came up empty after eleven play thirty four yard drive in their first possession. In the Lions first possession the defense came up huge, when
Mayerli Cayon picked up an interception returning it two yards and giving the Bobcats offense the ball back with good field position. This led to STU getting on the board after a seven play drive that ended with a
Holly Neher pass to
Karyssa Dolce for a thirty two yard touchdown pass. 7-0 STU.

The Lions responded however with a touchdown of their own on the next drive in four plays. They were unable to notch an extra point, and the Bobcats held on to a 7-6 lead. The game was scoreless until the end of the second quarter, when the Bobcats marched down the field going sixty yards in eleven plays that was capped off with
Jada Graham receiving a pass from
Holly Neher, taking it five yards for the score. An extra point made it 14-6 STU.

Just under five minutes remaining in the game, the Lions made in exciting and were able to score in five plays to make in 14-12 with a lot of time on the clock. The Bobcats however were able to hang on to the ball to run out the time never giving the Lions offense a chance to take the lead, and STU would walk away with a 14-12 Senior Night victory.
