MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (April 5, 2023)- The St. Thomas University (STU) Baseball team fell just short of NCAA DII opponent Barry University by a score of 7-5.
Brian Garcia has been great for the Bobcats earing himself Sun Conference Player of the week honors, going 7-10, .900 slugging, with 6 RBI's all against the #6 Webber International Warriors.

The Bobcats got the start they wanted in this one, scoring three in the top of the first.
Brian Garcia stayed hot, and led the game off with a homer to right field. A couple batters later
Angelo Piloto doubled, which scored Chris Schoeller, who singled in an earlier at bat.
Omar Baldo made it 3-0 with a double of his own swapping positions with Piloto on second.

 Barry went on to take the lead 4-3 in the bottom of the first, in what was a loud first inning from both sides. The game would then become a pitching duel, until the Bobcats tied the game at four all in the 6
th.
Lucas Lopez roped a single to left, which brought
Joey Thompson across the plate. In the bottom of the 6
th, the Buccaneers scored three jumping to a 7-4 lead with three innings remaining.
Kendry Noriega homered in the top of the 9
th to try and start a rally but Barry would hold on, and walk away with the victory.
