Arnums' Career Day Leads Bobcats Over Trinity Baptist

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (January 29, 2024) – The St. Thomas University (STU) Men's Basketball team dominated the Trinity Baptist College Eagles by a score of 114-76. Freshman Jeremy Arnum dropped a high 39 points, 5 rebounds, and an assist. Arnum was all over the floor, draining eight from beyond the arch. This was a game where the Bobcat starters took a seat early, and the bench came in and showed how much depth this STU has.
 
The game started with a quick foul by Diego Fernandez, but it didn't slow down the Bobcats. Jordan Hernandez missed a 3-pointer for the Bobcats, but Josh Taylor was right there and capitalized on the rebound with a powerful dunk to put St. Thomas on the board. The Eagles responded with a layup, but STU continued to extend their lead. Jordan Hernandez and Milton Matthews orchestrated a smooth play, resulting in another layup. Jordan Hernandez and Milton Matthews showcased their shooting abilities, sinking jumpers and a crucial 3-pointer.
 
Milton Matthews continued to shine, adding more points to the board, including another 3-pointer from a good pass by Cearius Warren. St. Thomas' defense was solid, with key steals and blocks, limiting Trinity Baptist's scoring opportunities. The Bobcats displayed teamwork, with Anthony Harris and Jeremy Arnum contributing on both ends of the court. Stipe Sokol made successful free throws, and the Bobcats maintained their momentum, leading 42-32 at halftime.
 
St. Thomas carried their dominance into the second half. Kyle Feldman and Jeremy Arnum orchestrated a series of successful plays, widening the point gap. Trinity Baptist struggled to find a rhythm, with turnovers and missed opportunities. St. Thomas capitalized on their depth, making effective substitutions and maintaining a strong offensive presence. Arnum's three-pointers were particularly impactful, contributing to the Bobcats' commanding lead.
