Miami Gardens, Fla. – Tayla Barnes reached a career milestone on Wednesday evening with her 200th career block, sparking the 10th ranked St. Thomas University Volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-23) triumph over Keiser.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

• Set 1 –The Bobcats scored the opening three points and led the entire first set, holding the visitors to a -.081 hitting percentage during the stanza. 

• Set 2 – STU broke a 5-5 stalemate with back-to-back points, responding to a Keiser score with five-straight to quickly pull ahead 12-6. The Seahawks tried to stage a late rally behind three-straight points to make it 24-18 before the Bobcats ended the frame. 

• Set 3 – St. Thomas scored the opening five points, and eight of the initial 10, to take an early 8-2 lead. Keiser rallied late to even the score at 21-all, fending off two match points before STU scored the clincher. 

 
NOTEWORTHY: 

• Sana Dennis paced the Bobcats behind 13 kills on aa .435 clip. 

• Carolina Cruz chipped in 11 kills and nine digs. 

• Payton Bertke dished out 30 assists. 

• Bianca Grassi anchored the defense with 16 digs. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• STU finished the match with 40 kills on a .191 hitting percentage versus 29 kills on a .070 clip for the host. 

• St. Thomas served five aces. 

• The Bobcats logged eight assisted blocks and two solo, Keiser recorded one solo with six assisted. 

• STU held a 61-49 advantage in digs.
