Men's Soccer Extinguishes The Fire In 3-2 Victory

Miami Gardens, Fla. – Hernando Suarez and Angelo Bernandes wasted no time getting the fourth-ranked St. Thomas Men's Soccer Team on the scoreboard on Saturday evening, recording a pair of goals in the opening 10 minutes against Southeastern, while Guido Cacciabue scored the game-winning goal late in the second half of a 3-2 triumph.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • Suarez got the Bobcats on the scoreboard in the second minute. 

  • Southeastern quickly responded with a goal in the same minute to knot the score at 1-all. 

  • Bernandes maneuvered past the Fire defense in the 12 minute and placed the ball past the visitor's keeper to push STU ahead 2-1. 

  • The Fire received a penalty kick opportunity in the 22nd minute, capitalizing on the situation to even the score at 2-2. 

  • Cacciabue scored on a penalty kick in the 77th minute to propel the Bobcats to a 3-2 advantage. 

 
NOTEWORTHY: 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

  • STU took 17 shots with 10 on target, SEU tallied 18 with 11 on goal. 

  • The visitors held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks. 

  • Both sides recieved four cautions while Southeastern had one ejection.
