MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (October 22, 2024) - The (RV) St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Soccer team is set to host New College of Florida and Webber International University this week. This will be the Bobcats' first ever meeting with the Mighty Banyans and second meeting with the Warriors this season.Â
The Bobcats will first host New College of Florida on Wednesday, October 23rd at 5 p.m. This is STU's inaugural meeting with the Mighty Banyans. The Mighty Banyans are currently 3-5-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the Sun Conference. New College recently defeated Webber International 2-1, earning their first conference win of the season. The Bobcats had planned to face off against New College of Florida earlier in the season, but the match was canceled due to the weather in Sarasota.Â
Up next, the Bobcats will host Webber International University on Saturday, October 26th at 11 a.m. The Warriors are currently 1-7 overall and 1-6 in Sun Conference play. In their last meeting, the Bobcats defeated the Warriors on the road 4-1. St. Thomas is currently 14-5-1 in series history against the Warriors, and 8-2-1 at home. Â

Emily Rodriguez notched two goals last week, her first two of the season. Rodriguez picked up her first against Southeastern, scoring the lone goal for the Bobcats, and her second against Warner University. Â

Isabella Penaranda held strong last week, notching 14 saves, four against the Fire and 10 against the Royals. Penaranda notched a shutout against Warner, her fifth of the season.Â
